On 2 March 2016, the ‘Information Office of the Chengdu Municipal Government’ provided a very comprehensive report on foreign investment within Chengdu highlighting its key industries, origin and scale. Overall information 

As at the end of 2015, there were 7,091 foreign investment enterprises (FIE) in Chengdu, among which 2,727 are companies, 4,351 are subsidiaries and 13 are partnerships.

Scale

As at the end of 2015, 2015, the total investment of the FIEs in Chengdu was USD$60.01 Billion, the registered capital of the FIEs was USD$34.89 Billion and the foreign investors subscribed USD $28.58 Billion.

2015 Foreign Investment Overview

Throughout 2015, 863 foreign investment enterprises (FIE) were registered in Chengdu, 224 were companies, 633 subsidiaries, 6 partnerships. The total investment of the 224 companies were USD$2.68 Billion, the registered capital USD$1.7 Billion and $USD 1.19 Billion subscribed by foreign investors.

Origin 2015

The origins of the 2015 FIEs were 57.1% from Asia (Hong Kong 86, Taiwan 23 and Korea 19).
